Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Personal Care Attendants (PCA) to provide assistance and support to individuals with daily living activities in a home setting. The PCA will work closely with clients to enhance their quality of life by promoting independence, dignity, and overall well-being. The ideal candidate will provide essential support and care to clients, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Must be 18years of age and have reliable transportation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with daily living activities, such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and meal preparation.
- Provide mobility support, including transferring clients between beds, wheelchairs, and other mobility aids.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary needs and preferences.
- Assist with light housekeeping, such as laundry, cleaning, and organizing living spaces to ensure a safe environment.
- Accompany clients to medical appointments, errands, or social activities.
- Assist with self-administered medications as directed by healthcare providers.
- Monitor and report changes in clients’ physical or emotional condition to family members, care team, or supervisors.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any incidents or observations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED (required).
- Previous experience in personal care, healthcare, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Certification in CPR and First Aid (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting or assisting with mobility.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Empathy, patience, and a passion for helping others.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold professional boundaries.
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable.
- Ability to work independently and follow care plans.
Working Conditions:
- Flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or overnight shifts as needed.
- Work performed in clients’ homes or residential facilities.
- Exposure to various health conditions or situations requiring sensitivity and adaptability.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move up to 20 pounds.
- Frequent standing, bending, and kneeling during caregiving tasks.
